Peanut butter toast with sliced bananas, honey, and cinnamon. I always forget to add chia seeds, but will add it if I remember next time. For sure!
This snack recipe makes me nostalgic about the summers in between 7th and 8th grade. Being home, bored, watching some show talking about Elvis and his obsession with peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwiches. BOMB!!!
I make it like my Mama would. Eyeballing each ingredient to my liking.
Another snack I mimicked from Krakatoa (coffee shop in Golden Hills). Their El Jorullo Oh-mer-gawwd! Mouth porn to the max. I make a much simplified version at home. Toast, mashed avocado, and crushed bacon. A semi-decent substitute for the El Jorullo, not a replacement by any means. It is a must try if you are in the neighborhood. They use a maple bacon and avocado spread. Either way, the ingredients are bomb and great for snacking.
What snack recipes have you forgotten about from your childhood? I would love to try them. Please comment below!
